Letter to President Johnson, Pierce Manufacturing
"The city of Great Falls recently purchased an in-stock Pierce XL Arrow 100 foot Aerial Platform from Hughes Fire Equipment. I wanted to personally thank you and your staff for the superior customer service that was provided during this process. Lask week the City's Fire Apparatus Mechanic and I visited Pierce to conduct our initial inspection of the vehicle.

Our experience was very positive and productive. From the time we arrived to the time we departed, Pierce employees were there ensuring that all of our needs were met, any questions were answered and assistance was provided to testing and inspection of the apparatus.

Also, we toured the facilities and while that was an amazing experience, what was more amazing was Pierce's expert and friendly Staff, who took time to explain or at least show us what they were doing. In fact, during our time with Pierce I noticed that your staff always took time to greet and meet us. It appeared that most everyone employed at Pierce were happy and liked their work.

I would like to single out Joel Kulbeck. Without going into all the details it suffices to say that if it weren't for him, the City of Great Falls would not have been able to purchase this vehicle. Our needs were critical since our old aerial appratus finally "spit the bit" after 40 years of service. As a side note that apparatus was a Pierce too. Anyway, through the process of working on specifications, and putting the bid in front of our City Commissioners, Joel was there assisting me with explaining and selling to our elected officials the additional expense of this apparatus compared to the lower bids.

Thanks to Joel in less than a week after the commission meeting, we were at Pierce for the first inspection of the appratus. While I know he made some money during this process, I think he went far beyond what his job required.
