Emergency Technical Decon -
Advanced Turnout Cleaning Technology that Saves Lives

NEW LOCATION: Coming soon to Portland, OR!

In traditional cleaning methods, water only cleans the surface of waterproof gear. Our liquid CO2+ is combined with environmentally-friendly additives that penetrate past the top layer of gear to remove carcinogens of all kinds, including dangerous NFPA-specified substances.

Buying Consortiums
A Smarter Way to Bid

Buying Consortiums (or Cooperative Purchasing Companies)
saves departments TIME and MONEY by easing the rigorous and sometimes political bid process through state-level and national entities!

Cooperative purchasing is "Procurement conducted by, or on behalf of, one or more Public Procurement Units" as defined by the American Bar Association Model Procurement Code for State and Local Goverments. Another way to look at cooperative purchasing is that it is a solution to the lengthy and somtimes political bid process when purchasing a fire apparatus.

Purchasing your fire apparatus through a consortium saves both time and money. The consortium does this by satisfying the needs of most bid processes. Each consortium publishes an RFP both locally and nationwide and solicits responses. Each vendor then creates and submits their responses for evaluation. The vendors are then evaluated by a committee based on different criteria such as: pricing, product availability, and financial stability. This gives you the ability to choose who you feel is right and helps avoid the "low bid" that some agencies are forced to pick.

In most situations, yes. Always check local purchasing laws to ensure you can participate in cooperative purchasing.

When working with consortiums there is no "best but rather "which best fits your situation". Look at the different consortium options like credit cards. Different card cards have different benefits. Cash back, discounts, or flyer miles for example. Consortiumsare the same way in that each of them varies and one that is best for one agency may not be the best for another.
